The Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal is the most iconic symbol of love in the world. It was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, who passed away in 1631. Made completely of white marble, the monument looks stunning at any time of the day. During sunrise, it glows softly with pink shades, and in the evening, its color changes to golden. On a full moon night, the Taj Mahal looks magical and almost unreal.

The main tomb is beautifully decorated with carvings and precious stones. Surrounding the building are four minarets, peaceful gardens, and a long water channel that reflects the Taj perfectly for photos. Inside the monument are the tombs of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, symbolizing their eternal love.

Tourists from many countries travel to Agra to admire the Taj Mahal’s beauty and learn about its romantic history. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. A visit to Agra feels incomplete without seeing this breathtaking masterpiece.
