Red Fort

Red Fort, also called Lal Qila, is a huge and powerful fort made of red sandstone. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, who also built the Taj Mahal. For many years, it served as the main residence and office of Mughal emperors. The fort has large gates, tall walls, beautiful palaces, and gardens inside.

Every year on Independence Day, the Prime Minister of India hoists the national flag here and gives a speech to the nation. That makes Red Fort a very important symbol of India’s freedom.

Tourists love exploring places like Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas, Meena Bazaar, and the museums inside the fort. The evening light and sound show shares history in a very interesting way. Visiting Red Fort feels like stepping back into the time of kings and warriors.
